MetaFormula

MetaFormula is able to handle text as formulas. The text of a formula can be accessed by referencing a cell. And a  text can be calculate as if it was a formula. On the meta level it is possible to have a formula that returns some text which is then interpreted as formula again. Cell references can be build on the fly

All functions from this collection dealing with formula text are available in two versions: Normal version and SYLK version. The normal version handles text in the same format as seen and typed in the formula palette of RagTime. In an international environment these formulas will not work as formula naming differs. Using the SYLK format solves this issue.

 

SYLK is an exchange format for spreadsheet data and is supported by most of the spreadsheet applications.

Formula text can be used in SYLK format to exchange the data between RagTime and Excel (as long as the functions are supported by both applications). The big benefit is, that the SYLK format is international and will not change in another localization of RagTime.

FormulaOf	Returns the formula of the reference as text
CalculateText	Calculate a formula given as text
Coordinate	Builds a spreadsheet coordinate from row and column information
Range	Builds a spreadsheet range from row and column information
SubTotal	Returns the sum of a part of the vertical range

RagTime 6.0.2 or newer
