MetaFormula

This extension makes it possible in RagTime to evaluate text as a formula. Vice versa, the formula of a cell can be extracted as text for display in another cell. For tables spanning several pages, a special function allows to easily calculate subtotals.

All functions from this collection dealing with formula text are available in two versions: A normal version and a SYLK version. The normal version handles text in the same format as seen and typed in the formula palette of RagTime. In an international environment, these formulas are prone to failure as function names may differ. Using the SYLK format solves this issue.

SYLK is an exchange format for spreadsheet data and is supported by most spreadsheet applications. Formula text can be used in SYLK format to exchange the data between RagTime and Excel (provided the functions are supported by both applications). The great advantage is that the SYLK format is international and will not change in another localization of RagTime.

FormulaOf	Returns the formula of the reference as text
CalculateText	Calculate a formula given as text
Coordinate	Builds a spreadsheet coordinate from row and column information
Range	Builds a spreadsheet range from row and column information
SubTotal	Returns the sum of a part of the vertical range
