Print dialog size on OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) with non-English localizations

11/18/2015

OS X 10.11 (10.11.1) has an issue where the customized print dialog size calculation gives wrong results. Affected from this problem are localized OS Versions i.e. German, French, and Dutch. The English OS does work properly.

For example, the dialog on OS X 10.10.5 (German) looks like this …

… whereas the same dialog on OS X 10.11 is much smaller:

This issue does not only cut the lables (“Voreinstellungen” vs. “Voreinste”) but also the checkboxes are no longer working as usual. A click on the square has no effect. Only a click on the right part of the text works.

We reported this bug to Apple. We will update this Tech Info as soon as the issue is solved in a future OS X release.
