RagTime Crash after right click in OS X 10.9

Users have reported about a potential crash of RagTime 6.5.2 after clicking the right mouse button in a Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) installation. We have been able to indentify the underlying cause for this behaviour.

In a fresh installation of Mac OS X 10.9 there is no "Contextual Menu Items" folder anymore within the Library folder (both in the users area as well as in the system one). The related context menu feature is no longer available in Mavericks. It seems, that any application, which in former OS X versions had stored plugins in one of those folders, suffers from incompatibilities under Mavericks. Even applications not using contextual menus in a direct mode are affected by crashes.

In order to get a Maverick compatible installation, one has to remove the content of the "Contextual Menu Items" folders from within the users Library, as well as the main Library directory (make a backup copy of the content!). After the next login the issue is gone.

As soon as we have new ideas about this missing feature, we will update this tech info for you.
